WEBSITE CATEGORY
The 2011 Tennessee History Day competition will mark the fourth year for the website category in Tennessee! Teachers and students, please take note that there WILL BE changes to the rules for the website category for 2011. The most up to date rules will be available in the fall. In the meantime, the following statements are brief announcements about the rule changes.
1) The category will split for the first time and Individual and Group websites will be judged separately in both the Junior and Senior Divisions.
2) Students will NO longer submit four copies of their process paper and four copies of their bibliography on paper to the district or state offices. These materials will ONLY be featured on the student-created website.
3) Students will continue to use the NHD Weebly Editor to create their websites.
**NOTE**
Per the National History Day rules, the individual and group website entries in both the Junior and Senior divisions will be judged SEPARATELY this year. This rule is determined by the National History Day office.
Check back soon for complete rules for 2011. The rules for 2010 are listed below.
Below are the "official" rules for the website category for the 2010 competition year. Beginning with the 2009-2010 competition year, National History Day will require web site projects to be created using Weebly, a web site building program. The National History Day Weebly website portal is available on the National History Day website now. All students MUST go through the NHD Weebly website portal to access the weebly tools and construct their website. Students CANNOT go directly to Weebly.com. Students may begin working on their website in early September and will work on the same Weebly website as they advance through levels of competition. Students are free to access and work on their sites at any time other than judging periods when their website will be closed to any editing. Please contact your State Coordinator with any questions.
PLEASE read each rule thoroughly!
