Tennessee Historical Society Organizational History
The Tennessee Historical Society (THS)is a private, non-profit, membership organization. Established in 1940, the Society's purpose is to "promote interest in and preservation of all matters relating to the history of Tennessee." The THS is the oldest, continuously operating cultural organization in the state.
